Cakes: Use the velvet sprays to achieve a smooth, matte finish with a velvety texture. This technique is perfect for creating a sophisticated look, especially on ganache-covered buttercream cakes, fresh creams cakes or sugarpaste covered cakes.
Desserts: Ideal for other desserts like mousse cakes, entremets, or even certain pastries. The spray can add a beautiful, professional touch to your creations.
Application Tips:
Before application shake well. For best results during cooler season place bottle in water at 40°C to 45°C for couple of minutes and shake well.
Preparation: for fresh cream or buttercream cakes, make sure your cake or dessert you chilled or evenly cooled before spraying to ensure even coverage and avoid melting or distortion.
Distance: Hold the can about 6-8 inches from the surface for a smooth, even layer. Adjust the distance based on the desired effect and colour intensity.
Coverage: Apply in a sweeping motion to avoid drips and achieve an even coat. You may need to do a few light passes to build up the color.
Drying: Allow the spray to set and dry completely before handling or decorating further. This ensures the velvet effect stays intact.
Decorative Details: After spraying, you can add additional decorations or details, like edible gold leaf or piped icing, to complement the velvety finish.
